Is there a difference if people call my sip.audio phone number?
Probably. In theory, a device which supports the OPUS codec can call another such device and the networks inbetween will pass the codec end to end. This is at least the future which we're working towards. In reality, it's very possible that somewhere along the line, the call will be interpreted as a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) call, and therefore stripped of its fidelity.
How do I connect to another SIP provider's account?
Enter their.name@sip.provider.com as the destination in your SIP compliant device or app.
How do I connect to ipDTL?
Enter ipDTLloginID@ipdtl.com as the destination in your SIP compliant device or app.
How does an ipDTL user connect to me?
Above ipDTL's dialpad, select 'Phone/SIP', and then enter your.name@sip.audio. Click the 'phone' connect icon. At your end, be sure to enable OPUS or G722.
How do I connect using Send a Link?
Send your unique URL to the remote party. They enter their name and follow the on-screen instructions and Quick Start guide.
Internet and Network
Will sip.audio run on our corporate network?
Probably. sip.audio provides STUN servers to help with NAT and Firewall traversal. Add 'stun.sip.audio' as STUN server to your device configuration.
What is a relay server?
The system will try to establish a ‘point-to-point’ connection between two computers. If NAT configuration prevents this, audio streams are sent via one of our relay servers in the cloud.
What ports should be open for sip.audio?
Depending on your configuration, TCP or UDP port 5060 and UDP ports 16834 to 32768. We recommend to use TCP for SIP signalling. If you have port restrictions, it may be necessary to enable 'Relay' for the account.
ISDN
Do I get my own ISDN numbers?
This is an optional feature. Receive calls to your own Los Angeles ISDN number(s). $160 Annual / $25 Monthly. Receive ISDN requires setup for each call.
How do I make an ISDN call?
Use sip.audio's online Shortcut Editor to configure the required ISDN settings, then dial the shortcut's name. In a hurry? Dial a G722 call using the format *12223334444 where 1 is the country code. Be sure to include the asterisk at the beginning.
Manage Subscription
How do I add or remove SIP Usernames or features?
To add, amend, or disable SIP Usernames included in your subscription, log into sip.audio with your registered email and password and click 'Global Admin'. To change your subscribed features and modify your AutoPay amount, click 'Manage Subscription'.
How do I cancel AutoPay?
Log into sip.audio with your account email and password and click on 'Manage Subscription'.
Click on 'Cancel AutoPay'.
How do I amend my customer record?
Log into sip.audio with your registered email and password, then select 'Global Admin'.
Phone Calls
How do I make a phone call using the phone number?
Use the phone number as your SIP destination. Enter the "+" symbol, followed by country code, then the number with any leading zeros omitted. You must first enable 'Tel' for the SIP Username.
How do I make a phone call using a short code?
Use sip.audio's online Shortcut Editor to save an entry for the phone number, then dial the shortcut's name.

sip.audio works with any SIP or N/ACIP compatible device or application.
SIP Usernames
How is a Remote account different to a Studio account?
A Remote account cannot call other Remote accounts.
Should I get an Individual account, or Studio + Remotes?
If you will only ever need one SIP Username, then Individual is the best option. If there's a chance you will add more, then the other option gives you flexibilty, as well as Remote accounts at a reduced cost.
